This conference is expected to play a crucial role in the integration of the results and experience coming from joint programming activities to date, which will strengthen the integration of the European Research Area. Joint Programming is a voluntary partnership between Member States and associated countries that aims to tackle major but common European societal challenges by combining national research programmes and thereby making better use of Europe's limited public research and development resources. Joint Programming is also one of the initiatives of the European Research Area; developments at EU level will have a significant impact on the structure and content of the next Framework Programme (Horizon 2020). This two day conference is expected to attract between 300-500 participants. Legislative link: An Irish Presidency Conference on this theme will assist in progressing the ERA and the H2020 agendas.
