Meeting of the Political and Security Committee (PSC)
The Political and Security Committee (PSC) is responsible for the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CSFP) and the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). Member States are represented at the PSC by Ambassadors based in Brussels. It meets twice a week, with extra meetings as required, and is permanently chaired by the European External Action Service.
The PSC monitors the international situation. It recommends strategic approaches and policy options to the Council of Ministers. The PSC provides guidance to the Military Committee (EUMC), the Politico-Military Group (PMG) and the Committee for Civilian Aspects of Crisis Management (CIVCOM).
