Discover vibrant visual art and poetry with The Poetry Project

13.05.2013, 09:00 GMT

As part of the Culture Programme of Ireland's EU Presidency, every week, the Poetry Project uploads a poem and accompanying video artwork, in celebration of Ireland’s literary and visual creativity.

‌Every week from January 1st until the end of June 2013 you’ll be able to follow the work of leading, and emerging artists and writers, and discover Ireland through different eyes. The weekly poems from The Poetry Project are absolutely free. You can read each new work every Monday from their website. But you can also subscribe and receive the new poem to your email inbox from their site every week. There is an accompanying video with each poem. This week's (May 13th-19th) featured poem is An Grá by Colm Breathnach.

EU2013.ie will keep you up to date with the weekly poems via this page and through our twitter account.

The Poetry Project was set up by the Kinsale Arts Festival in partnership with Poetry Ireland
and the Royal Hibernian Academy. Poems were selected by Gerard Smyth, Poetry Editor of The Irish Times and Joseph Woods, Director of Poetry Ireland. Video works were selected and commissioned by writer and curator Gemma Tipton, and Patrick T. Murphy, Director of the Royal Hibernian Academy. The Poetry Project is presented as part of the Culture Programme of the EU Presidency, with additional support from Foras na Gaelige.
